Presentation Academy was founded in 1831 by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Located on historic Fourth Street in downtown Louisville, Presentation has served as an educational institution for over 168 years. The school is currently a Catholic college-preparatory high school for girls.

The building design is a Romanesque Revival style of architecture, characterized by the low rounded arches and domed tower. Inside the tower are thousands of signatures written by seniors on their last day of school before they pass under the low arches for the last time.
